After that long post on my Schwarzkopf Amazon haul and hair bleaching, i thought i'd share a bit on the hair oils i use for daily maintenance of my new ash color.

From left to right:

OGX® Argan Oil Of Morocco Extra Penetrating Oil, Organix (rebranded as OGX®) Hydrating Macadamia Oil Dry Styling Oil, Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil, Caudalie Divine Oil, Kenra Professional Platinum Silkening Gloss

1. OGX® Argan Oil Of Morocco Extra Penetrating Oil

What it does:

Heal, smooth and restores shine to dry coarse hair.

My opinion:

Heavily scented, as are most of their products. I've been alternating use of this with the other Morrocan oil i have from OGX but this is better i think.

2. Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Dry Styling Oil

What it does:

Restores moisture to even the driest of hair.

My opinion:

Heavily scented - Smells sweet, like honey but much, much sweeter. Loved it! My hair felt so soft and smooth after application and you can use it as a styling oil too!

3. Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil

What it does:

Adds shine, strengthen hair and offers UV protection. Unfortunately, i think this product has been discontinued, in favor of their newer Penetrating Oils in clear packaging.

My opinion:

Heavily scented - sweet smelling. Loved how my hair feels after putting this on. Soft and smooth.

4. Caudalie Divine Oil

What it does:

- A lightweight multitasking oil for face, body and hair.

- Grape seed oil contains antioxidants including Vitamin E which helps to build tissue, promotes hair and skin growth and adds shine.

- Sesame oil promotes shine and conditions hair, is rich in vitamins E, D and B complex making it effective in scar reduction and soothing skin and scalp.

My opinion:

The SMELL!! If you hate fragrance, you'd better run from this oil. Far Away. The fragance is strong - Scent is a sweet powdery scent heavily dominated by vanilla.

It will feel rough on hair initially but leave it overnight and you wake up with soft hair! I also used it on my face as a last step because sesame oil is occlusive while grape seed oil is an emollient.

On skin, it absorbs bloody rapidly, so fast i thought maybe i didn't put it on in the first place.

5. Kenra Professional Platinum Silkening Gloss

What it does:

- Tames frizz and smoothes flyaways.

- Protects against humidity.

- Ultra-lightweight, shine-enhancing serum.

- Heat application promotes optimum shine.

My opinion:

It smells so sweet! Like candy! It does make my hair soft and smooth. And sweet-smelling.

Phew. So many oils! You can't go wrong with either argan oil or macadamia - both are just as good for dry hair but if you want shine, go for Argan; if you want softness and smoothness, go for Macadamia.
